2010 GLOBALIZER PANELS CONCLUDE IN VIENNA
From July 31st to August 2nd, Ashoka assembled a group of pre-eminent figures from its own leadership team, its global Fellowship, and its network of business entrepreneurs to confront a pressing question: how to ensure that ventures worthy of scale in the social sector actually reach their full potential impact?
This singular event was the culminating point of an ongoing program, all of which stemmed from a simple premise: good business ideas have established mechanisms by which they can scale rapidly; by contrast, there are no such market forces at work in the citizen sector. In convening this diverse and powerful group of actors, Ashoka hopes to push the sector towards the development of just such mechanisms - and in so doing, to scale the impact of the most exciting and widely-applicable innovations within its network.
These first Globalizer Panels represent a major step along this path, but the most exciting part of the weekend was without a doubt the energy shared by all participants to develop this program further. We will thus spend the next few months strategizing in conversation with participants and other stakeholders, and building a road map for the next evolution of the Globalizer. Please get in touch if you have specific questions about the program, or watch this space to see what emerges!
